I just wanted to give you the run down on this here Web Guide.

Every day that you see an icon in the book, the corresponding content will appear right here on the Web Guide!
On days when there is not an icon in the book there will at least be posted the scriptures for that day. There may also be some "extras" from time to time, so come on by each day, every day to see what's cooking.

The rest of what you need to know about "how to" Advent is found in your book. So if you're one of those folks who skips the intro, don't do it! Go back and read those first few pages. It will be a helpful framing to your Advent journey.

Remember, Advent is like a flashback in a movie. It pulls you into a part of the story that you already know the ending to, but you wind up so engrossed in the narrative that you relive the moments as if the end hasn’t even happened. We get so caught up in retelling and reliving the story of God’s people through characters like Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth, John, the wise men, the shepherds and other people that we almost forget that Christ has already been born.

Advent encourages us to be formed by the ideas of waiting, preparing and hoping as the characters in our Advent story teach us what it looks like to live these things as we wait for Christ’s second coming. With this in mind, we realize that all of life is an Advent. We are always waiting. That’s why this time of year is so very important and formative. Most of us aren’t very good at waiting. Advent gives us practice and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, teaches us to wait upon the Lord in all the moments of our lives.

As you dive into this Advent journey I’d love to hear how it's going and answer any questions you might have! Send me an email or hit me up in social media world! I look forward to hearing from you!

Grace and peace
